  • The day before my convocation, I was in my Workshop

The day before my convocation, I found myself in my college workshop, surrounded by the familiar sights and sounds of the place where I had spent countless hours working on projects and learning new skills. Of-course with a couple of passionate juniors and batch mates.

As I looked around at the tools, machines, and workbenches, I felt a sense of nostalgia mixed with excitement for the future. It was hard to believe that my time at the workshop was coming to an end, but I was also eager to see where my new degree would take me.

I walked over to the room, where a partially finished project sat waiting for me. It was the FSAE concept car that we have been working on for months. I found myself lost in the familiar rhythms of cutting, drilling, and soldering.

As I spoke with the team, I reflected on my time at the workshop and all that I had learned there. It had been a place of discovery, experimentation, and growth, where I had been able to explore my passions and develop new skills. I had worked on everything from simple woodworking projects to complex robotics, chassis welding and I had learned the value of perseverance, problem-solving, and collaboration.

But as much as I loved the workshop, I knew that it was time to move on. My degree in mechanical engineering would open up new opportunities and challenges, and I was excited to see where it would take me.

I felt a sense of satisfaction and pride. It was a reminder of all that I had accomplished during my time at the workshop, and a symbol of the skills and knowledge that I would carry with me into the future.

As the evening wore on, I walked out into the cool night air, I felt a sense of bitter sweetness. I was sad to leave the workshop behind, but I was also excited for the future and all that it held. The next day would mark the end of one chapter in my life, but it would also be the beginning of a new one.

The day of my convocation was a blur of excitement, nerves, and anticipation. As I walked across the stage to receive my degree, I thought back to my time at the workshop and all that it had taught me. It had been a place of growth, discovery, and community, and I knew that I would always carry its lessons with me.

As I left the ceremony, diploma in hand, I felt a sense of pride and accomplishment. I had worked hard my own way to get to this point, and I knew that the skills and knowledge that I had gained would serve me well in whatever I chose to do next.

Looking back on that day, I am grateful for the time that I spent in BITS Goa. It was a place that challenged me, inspired me, and helped me to become the person that I am today. And even though I have moved on to new challenges and opportunities, I will always carry its lessons with me.

Note: To protect my privacy, I have chosen to omit a few specific details from this post, but that day before the convocation will be remembered.
